Hajj is the fifth pillar of Islam and the journey of a lifetime. It takes place from the 8th to the 12th (or 13th) of Dhul Hijjah. Most pilgrims from the UK and Pakistan perform Hajj al-Tamattu: an Umrah first, then Hajj.
Before the 8th — arrival and Umrah
Arrive in Makkah (or Madinah first), perform your Umrah and leave Ihram. Rest, attend our pre-Hajj sessions and prepare for the days ahead.
8 Dhul Hijjah — Day of Tarwiyah (Mina)
Enter Ihram for Hajj from your hotel and travel to Mina. Pray Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, Isha and Fajr there, shortening the four-rak’ah prayers.
9 Dhul Hijjah — Day of Arafat
The most important day of Hajj. Travel to Arafat after sunrise and spend the afternoon in dua and remembrance until sunset. After sunset, move to Muzdalifah, pray Maghrib and Isha together and spend the night under the open sky. Collect small pebbles for Rami.
10 Dhul Hijjah — Day of Eid
- Stone the large Jamarah (Jamarat al-Aqabah) with seven pebbles.
- Qurbani (sacrifice) — arranged for you in our packages.
- Shave or trim the hair and leave the main restrictions of Ihram.
- Perform Tawaf al-Ifadah and Sa’i (on the same day or the following days).
11 – 13 Dhul Hijjah — Days of Tashreeq
Stay in Mina and stone all three Jamarat each day after midday, seven pebbles each, small then middle then large. You may leave Mina on the 12th before sunset, or stay for the 13th.
Before going home — Tawaf al-Wada
The farewell Tawaf is the last thing you do in Makkah before leaving.
