Packing light but smart makes your Umrah far more comfortable. Use this checklist and tick things off a week before you fly.
Documents
- Passport (6+ months validity) and visa printout
- Flight tickets, hotel vouchers and insurance
- Copies of passports saved on your phone
- Some Saudi Riyals in cash and a travel card
Clothing
- Men: two sets of Ihram, an Ihram belt and comfortable sandals
- Women: loose, breathable abayas and comfortable shoes
- A light jacket for Madinah nights and air-conditioned mosques
Health & comfort
- Your regular medicines with prescriptions
- Unscented soap, shampoo and deodorant for Ihram
- Painkillers, plasters, rehydration sachets and Vaseline for feet
- A small backpack, refillable bottle and shoe bag
For worship
- A small Quran or app, dua book and tasbeeh
- A light prayer mat for the hotel
